PERFECTIONISM

So to start off this blog I looked up the word perfectionism. According to the Webster dictionary perfectionism means the doctrine that the perfection of moral character constitutes a person’s highest good. The theological doctrine that a state of freedom from sin is attainable on earth. A disposition to regard anything short of perfection as unacceptable.
Looking at this definition in my eyes it is crazy. I normally don’t expect perfection from myself as I know it is highly unlikely. However now that I have undertaken new volunteer roles I am expecting myself to do these positions as perfectly as the last person did. I am finding this very tiring and time consuming trying to be just like somebody else. I am really hoping that the more comfortable I get in these positions the more I can bring in my spin on things.
