New CHALLenge

So with being in isolation I have some time to do some self-care homework that people have suggested that I look into. Self care for me is a band wagon I can fall off of very often. When things are going good I stop working on it. I am trying to remember that self-care helps things to stay good all of the time. For me it is all about nurturing and caring for myself where I am at not where I want to be. For me self care no longer can have a destination. It is a daily journey.

So my homework. I was asked to look into the mediation apps that I can download onto my digital devices. i am not going to mention any names or promote one over the other. Here is what I did find, I found a free app that I like. I decided to stick with my old mediation app as it worked best for me as the other ones with a free trail offered so many different things it was confusing. What I also found that I like are mediation timers. So mediation is a self care item I am working with.

Self care tools are the best Christmas gift I can give myself. Now I can spend some time looking at my journey forward and my inventory. These are things I only look at when I am stopped dead in my tracks in one way or another.

  1. I used to have a subscription to a meditation app, but the more that depression has slowed down my thinking, the less I feel the need for something like that. What seems to work best for me now is focusing on the guinea pigs and what they’re doing or focusing on what’s happening in the natural world outside my window.
