Empathy, Respect and Kindness

These three words are sitting in the for front for me for a variety of reasons. For myself to remember to treat myself with respect, kindness and dignity. Especially now as my health path is starting to change. I also need to operate with an open mind so I can hear what others have to say.

The other reason these three words are sitting in the for front is I am working on a project for the hospital close to me. This project is for mental health week May 2-5/22. Anyway we are focusing on the hospital staff and doing an email called 5 days of kindness. Each day we put forth a suggestion of kindness for that day. So needless to say working on this has really brought me to looking at the words of Empathy, Respect and Kindness and working it into the week. We also somehow want to look at the stigma of mental health. Not sure yet how we will do this. I would love any suggestions.

Just a reminder to treat ourselves as well as others with Empathy, Respect and Kindness. We can all make a difference each and everyday.

  1. I think empathy, respect, and kindness are a great fit with anti-stigma messaging. Stigma is all about stereotypes, but if a loved one was iill, what kind of empathy, respect, and kindness would people hope would be shown to that loved one?
