SELF CARE PLAN

Today I wanted to talk about writing your own self care plan. This is something that I have looked into as writing a self care plan has been really important to me. Making sure that I follow this plan is also really important to me. I am finding that the plan does go through adjustments and changes.

Here are some things that I have kept in mind when developing a self care plan.

Different kinds of self-care:

  • Physical self care- This encompasses all activities that keep you physically healthy and fit.
  • Psychological self care
  • Emotional self care
  • Spiritual self care
  • Social self care
  • Professional self care

A self care plan is more of an anchor that keeps you tethered to a healthy lifestyle. Preventing you from spiraling into habits and episodes that may be detrimental to you. When you create a self care plan it also helps you narrow down your options to the best and most effective in each situation. Having a self care plan also keeps you accountable.

HOW TO CREATE A SELF CARE PLAN

  • Get to know yourself- what are you likes and dislikes
  • Acknowledge your needs to each day
  • Categorize your activities so that they are broken down into the self care categories
  • Take note of your potential barriers and challenges
  • Take note of your performance
  • Get an accountability partner
