This is a key part to me moving through getting well. I need to understand that my body has many parts to it. With all of these parts come many different functions. The functioning of my body has also changed over time. Learning to accept these changes is the only way that I can get healthy. That is a goal of mine to live with my mind. body and soul fully connected. I am not looking for perfection but I am wanting to be able to function.
What does this look like for me. For me it means that I don’t overdue it so bad one day that I pay for it the next day. I need to pay attention to me and plan. If there is a lot of walking involved use a wheelchair or a scooter. Use my cane a lot more often to help with walking. Make sure that I pack extra medication. If I am doing something that involves my mind, don’t do it continuously. Build breaks in. work for an hour, take a 20 min break where I walk away. During that break I can go for a walk, listen to music, cook. Just fill that time with something positive. Leading a healthy life means healthy from head to toe. Each and every day will be different and not perfect but being aware makes it livable. I want to live not just exist. This road to health is wide open. I feel like an artist getting ready to paint.
